Has Democrat Senate Majority leader Harry Reid ever retracted his “this war is lost” statement about Iraq?

Will he do anything to make sure that the Democrats snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq?

Reid is skating on thin ice in his own home state, he will shut up on a lot of left wing topics

  2. Texas Patriot says:

No he hasn’t and John Kerry has never apologized for calling our troops terrorists and John Murtha has never apologized for calling them Nazis. Such a patriotic party.

  3. §§pecial Unicorn™ says:

No, he has not. Because Prince Harry maintains he is never wrong. And he is working on that as we speak…always.

  4. Shovel Ready says:

I am still waiting for Dick Durbin of Illinois to retract his statement comparing American troops to Nazis. Democrats are such wonderful people.

  5. Westhill says:

Probably not. But did we ever win it, or did we just temporarily pacify the civil war we stirred up.

  6. Paul Grass says:

No he hasn’t retraced it, and he will insure a disaster if allowed to run unchecked

  7. The Zeitgeist says:

I was not aware that it was “won”.

  8. Eric says:

There is still time for Obama to ruin all that has been done in Iraq. Right now he is busy destroying this country. Give him a break he can only do so much!

Has Bush ever retracted his “Mission Accomplished” declaration? It clearly isn’t accomplished and real progress was not realized until the Republicans lost control of Congress in 2006. The Republicans are great at starting wars, just not very good about ending them so that we are safer, instead of in more trouble than before.

He never has and I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting if I were you. You have to understand, his comment had nothing to do with whether he thought Iraq was won or lost. It was about the fact that he was playing politics with the issue. In today’s political environment it’s not about getting anything done…it’s about opposing the other side any and every way you can. Thus if Republicans are in power, and they propose a policy (or conduct a war) then the Democrats automatically have to oppose it. It cuts both ways too, now that Obama is President and the Democrats control Congress; the Republicans have to oppose everything they want to get done. It’s petty and unhelpful, but until we the people start demanding that they quit acting like spoiled little children and start acting like adults (or vote them all out)…then this is what we’ll be stuck with.

I have not seen any apology’s from the right about Nancy Pelosi and the cia.The head of the cia testifieded to congress this week that Informationtion about torture was not told to congress but supposedly was unintentional

  12. Baltek says:

We didn’t win in Iraq. If anyone can be said to have won it would be the political members of the Sunni Awakening though even that is highly in doubt.

What we did was triple our national debt in order to leave a state with a horribly weak central government that will, at best, be gobbled up by Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia over the next decade and at worse will collapse into a truly failed state in the most volatile region of the world.

    Go us….
